The Industrial Development Authority of Carroll County (IDA) was established pursuant to Sections 266A-1 through 266A-3 of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, and Resolution 25-80 adopted by the Board of County Commissioners of Carroll County on October 16, 1980. The IDA was formed to relieve conditions of unemployment, encourage the increase of industry and a balanced economy in Carroll County, assist in the retention of existing industry, promote economic development and promote the health, welfare and safety of the residents of Carroll County. The IDA Board of Directors is comprised of five voting members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners of Carroll County. The members volunteer their time and business acumen to benefit the citizens of Carroll County.
